Dancing Shoes

Dancing shoes are often a necessary item needed to participate in the dance. Jazz dancers often require shoes in order to be able to land certain leaps and complete Chaines, as well as other turns. They also offer their feet needed support in order to perform different combinations.

Dancing shoes are an essential part of en Pointe. Pointe shoes are specially designed to offer support to the feet while they are in a tiptoe position. These shoes have a box tip that reinforces the toes and creates a flat platform for dancing on. They also have a shank that lends support to the arches while they are pointed.

Dancing shoes are relatively similar between genres such as, salsa, ballroom, and the tango. As a general rule, shoes need to have a small heel, and a leather sole for assisting in shuffles and turns. One of the most important aspects of a dance shoe is comfort. Without comfortable footwear dancing becomes less appealing, so make purchases accordingly.
